The Slovenian District Energy Association was founded on 6th March 1998 by Slovenian companies working in the field of district heating and cooling as well as gas distribution. Some years later the Association was successful in attracting foreign experts; each of them helps extend the limits of Slovenian knowledge of energy.
The basic purpose of the Association is to link companies and individuals working directly or indirectly in the field of district energy supply and to create conditions for training, co-operation, and the exchange of ideas between closely related professions in Slovenia and abroad.
Association's fields of work, its main project every year being organisation of district energy conference, tend to expand constantly. District heating, which was the main theme only a few years ago, has got a "rival": district cooling. Ever more important questions are: which resources to use as well as which ones are available and environment friendly. Challenges for energy are plentiful!
